Welcome to the forums! The Lava would be an interesting second addition to your collection to say the least! Spyderco sprints last anywhere from literally minutes in availability to years, depends on the models... Spyderco has evolved over the recent years especially to offer products that are gone before you know it (unless you have deep pockets to pay big bucks for them on the 'bay from the flippers). Hope that helps (?), cheers :)mama wrote:Do you think this knife would be a good choice as my second spyderco purchase? I have an orange delica. Are sprint runs hard to find?

Hi Paul & Mama,
Welcome to our forum.
I have a a production sample, which I received a week or so ago, so I would guess they're in QC.
As far as how they'll go? We have no idea. The original design is a Chad Los Banos creation. At the time he was a forumite on our forum and I believe this was his first design that was made by a production house. Now Chad designs regularly for Boker. The Lava is an interesting design. The dropped blade required some interesting lockback engineering to be able to make it.

Lave is affis knife. It is an fugly Spyderco knife with terrific ergos. Once you put it in you hand, it will stay there. Do not underestimate it's short blade. It is very capable.
Good luck

Couple places that have them for "pre-order" show the MSRP at $225. Assuming that's correct, then most US "street prices" will be in the $130 to $150 range.Blackhawk30 wrote:How much are they going for?
