Just curious... I'm heading to Australia in a few months and I bought a Ladybug Hawkbill Salt to accompany me on my trip. Does anyone know if I could get in trouble for bringing it with me in my luggage? Seems like a dumb question, but I'm reading ABF (Australia Blade Forums) and it looks like their customs is very anti-knife.
Any advice?

hi manbug my first post but I am from Oz and thought I may be able to help. There is no definite answer I could give as it is up to the individual customs officers discretion as to whether the knife is a prohibited import. There is a rule saying one handed opening knives are not permitted to be imported but can be owned. You are also not legally permitted to carry a knife without a genuine reason. A good option if you have one is a SAK which you will be able to bring in without any problems and most police are generally ok with them. Just a little info I recently purchased a delica, stretch, dragonfly and griptillian one month ago from the US they were inspected by customs and got through with not one being seized. It really is hit and miss, at the worst you can bring it with you declare that you have a knife in your luggage and if customs seize it you will only loose the knife but they wont issue a fine. Sorry I can't give you a better answer its just such a crap situation that I can only give you a crap response.
Diopaticki’s confusing answer is about as clear as the situation gets.
Declare it when you come into the country; it should not be a problem.
I say again; should not be a problem, but you never know. Declaring it should cover you.
:D I hope you enjoy stay in Australia, lots to see.

How much can a Koala bear?
Thank you both for the information dlopaticki & Reject :) If I do decide to bring along my ladybug with me on my trip I will DEFINITELY declare it.
