My biggest suggestion is to include a compare function to the site so you can select several knives and have them pull up on the same page, and show a chart including all the stats for each knife in an easy to compare manner, sort of like how many electronics websites (Micro Center for example) have. Right now I open several knives in different tabs, which works, but is harder to compare.
Great suggestion! (I thought of it when I was buying knives last month but didn't think to put it on the survey.)

I answered the survey before I saw this thread. I realize they probably are looking for improvements to site layout more than info content, but here's what I said (reading it is not required :p ):

What is it about our site that you like the most?
I spend most of my time here on the forums, so I must like them the most. I really appreciate the fact that Spyderco maintains and oversees the forums. I also love the searchable, comprehensive list of knives and other products and the information provided about each knife and its history. And I like all the other information given on the site. I love information. (Though to be honest, I'm sort of new here and haven't yet taken advantage of all the edge-u-cation type material provided.) I especially like the fact that Spyderco even maintains a list of their discontinued knives. Apparently they're not scared by the prospect that they might help enable somebody to spend some of their Spyderco knife money buying one from someone besides them! (an old one) I like the info about blade metal and other materials used, lock design and knife construction.

What is it about our site that you would most like to see improved?
I would like even more information about Spyderco's history and the individual knives and their history. And info about the Golden factory and the Japanese locations where Spyderco knives are made. I would also like to see info about the Chinese, Taiwanese, and Italian locations and how they came about... sort of an "Industry on Parade" documentary would be great!!

I think the search engine could possibly be improved a bit. Maybe it's just me, but sometimes I have to search for a related product to find the one I want.

kennethsime wrote:When I type "Endura" into the search box, I expect the first item on the list to be an Endura. Instead, the first several items on the list are Delicas. I've run into this in the past while searching "Stretch," or "Dragonfly," also.
Me too. Even google is confused about Delica vs Endura. If you do a google search for "spyderco super blue delica" then click on "Shopping," all it turns up right now is one super blue Endura, at Oso Grande! This "Shopping" search doe not mention BladeHQ, Knifecenter, or GPKnives (or any super blue Delicas at all)! To repeat, I'm talking about just the google shopping search -- not the google general search.

Just finished.

The one thing I've always wanted to see is a gallery of discontinued models. I think it would be great to be able to browse through all the knives Spyderco has made.

Just finished. my only suggestion is to update the upcoming sprints and exclusives more often. it would be great if we could get this heads up direct from spyderco rather than dealers.

Done. Hopefully my answers made sense. A lot of my suggestions seem to be common ones.
Thanks,

Been there, done that. Good luck Kristi.
