It was in the early 90's when the Endura came out. I still have it.

Late 1994 or 1995 - a 1st gen SE Dragonfly. The guy I got it from gave it to me, I told him I at least wanted to offer him 10 bucks, haven't seen him since. Would still gladly pay for it though it is long gone and I sincerely doubt he'd accept the money.

I was issued a Rescue Clipit in 1992/93 and was so impressed I bought one for personal use, soon after. Still have it.

1985. I bought a plain edge SS Worker in a knife shop in Klamath Falls while my band was touring there. Lost the knife through the years but carried it for at least 5 years! Loved that knife!

Around 10 or so years ago. Was a Spydercard and it NEVER left my pocket for the couple of years I owned it until I gifted it to a friend who fell in love with it. Don't see that friend anymore but still miss that little knife when I see one, lol.

Bought a Merlin in 2001 and paid full MSRP for it before I knew better. Worth every penny.

Don't mess with the Spyder because you think you're fly.

1984... I had been collecting a few knives (mostly Gerber "Paul" knives) and I was receiving the monthly catalog from Cutlery Shoppe... (wife called it my 'knife porn') and I ordered a CO5 Economy... had that for a while... really wanted a police... finally got an Endura with the integral FRN pocket-clip - I broke the clip off... screwed an aftermarket clip on... and 500+ spydercos later... I still collect (and hide) spyderco knives...
