Delica Titanium Sprint Should be Dropping Soon!

#1

Post by Invective »

Just got an email from a well know HKnife Shop that the Delica Ti Damascus Sprints will be in stock on 6/18! I Probably won't getting one as the Delica isn't really my cup of tea and I just spent more than all my available money on the Para2 but thought I'd give my fellow forumites a heads up! It's beauty though and I wish I had the disposable income to get one just to ogle

I started to pick one up from Howe's last night, along with an orange Dragonfly and a collector's Goddard sprint, but after I input my PayPal info, on the final screen the cheapest shipping was going to be $11 USPS, no free shipping like they usually had :( . It upset me enough I cancelled the order.
Which Knife, A or B? get Both! (and C, D and E) :)

I just placed two separate orders there today. Both free shipping.

Yep, although the shipping was free, I made the mistake of paying with PayPal, so I was charged a handling fee to cover the PayPal fees.

I went back and looked at their shipping policy, it states "Shipping rates will apply for all orders weighting over the First Class Shipping weight of 13 ozs." - so I guess if you only order one knife the shipping is free, but if you order several and the shipping weight totals over 13 ounces, they'll charge you? Seems counter-intuitive, if you break up the order into multiple orders it costs them *more* to ship it. Oh well.

I sure hope not, it's against the PayPal Terms of Service to charge a customer extra based on using PayPal vs. not using PayPal.

Looks like there has been a change based on their Shipping page: "Shipping rates will apply for all orders weighting over the First Class Shipping weight of 13 ozs. "

So if you order something heavy (like a Titanium Delica), you will be charged shipping.

If you order something light (like a Pingo), they still have free shipping but add a "Handling" fee regardless of whether you use PayPal or credit card. For example, a $50 purchase netted a $0.95 handling fee. This will discourage you from splitting up your order into multiple orders.

I don't think it was PayPal who charged me. I think it was Howe's who charged me to offset his PayPal fees.

See pic where it says Handling: $0.95

Probably means nothing because the Super Blue sprints are not exclusive to KnifeWorks only.

Still, aren't the same knife makers working on both runs?

It's easy to tell which maker makes which knife :)

Moki uses full superblue and laminated ZDP
Sakai uses laminated superblue and full ZDP

Its funny but Sal didn't know why they did it that way, so thats why the Caly's have a full SB Blade and the Delica or Endura have laminated SB blade

Jay, I tried to place the same order as you today. I only got the USPS Priority as the lowest price option. It said $7+ for shipping so maybe they are having website issues. Either way it caused me to cancel my order, clear my cart, and re-address my intended purchase. Does anyone else know when Jim changed his policy?
