Sprint run for charity
Don't get nervous ... no one has to get up and start training for a 10k.
But, use your imagination and business sense and design a sprint run Spydie that could raise the most money for charity - what model, what steel, what handles, what color?
Would you number or etch the knives to give them exclusivity?
So, what would your sprint cost and how many do you think you [the market] could sell/auction?

Dark green smooth G10/ 204P Native5 with part of proceeds to save woods in New England. I am in for two.
Do you aware that part of profit from sales of several production Spydercos go to charity. I can recall Chokwe, pink Native and Dragonfly. May be few others.

Was the D'Allara a contributing model?

that's news to me but it would be a very cool. I looked it up on the :spyder: site and didn't see anything mentioning that compared to some of the pink models where the charity is mentioned. Spyderco did offer the WTC and alot of money went of the to the widows and orphans fund from 9-11 IIRC so Officer D'Allara's family would have gotten something out of that. I think it was a great gesture to name a model after him. Kudos to Sal and the gang for that.Clip wrote:Was the D'Allara a contributing model?
Ok back to the original thread's question. I don't think this is really plausible but i would like the Red/White/Blue Patriotic Kopa that Chris has that was made by Santa Fe Stone Works. No clip please :) Whatever proceeds would go to the wounded warrior project. http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ Our union is big into helping them out. We just gave a Vet who had his legs blown off a brand new van with the money from T-Shirts that the members of the department bought. The Commissioner gave special permission for us to wear these red shirts on Fridays for 6 months or so. With 4000 or so members jumping on board the few bucks per shirt added up fast.
EDIT: i tried finding a pic of chris' (boxer93) kopa but the links are broken where he had posted them in other threads
EDIT part deux :) google saved the pics ...again these are Chris' pics and knife

How about the Ladybug or Jester? With a low price point and minimal intimidation factor it may appeal to a wider range of people who normally would not consider buying a knife for charity. And while we're using our imaginations, a FFG SE in H1 would be pretty awesome. The FRN would be in the charity's color.

I love the idea. I think that it would be even better, if such knife will be Golden made, but than things will get really complicated.
