Damascus spydies question

#1

Post by dialex »

Hello friends.

I know that there was a small batch of Damascus spydies made some time ago (the C01 Everest Spyderco - Zowada collaboration). Do you know of any other models made with Damascus blades?

Have a sharp day.

The C01 Worker had a limited run of Damascus blades. They came paired with a 2-screwed Worker in the Evolution series and were sold as a set. See the eBay link above. There were a few C01 Damascus pieces sold individually as seconds (they had imperfections in the layering).

Spyderco has not offered other Damascus blades but don't forget the Ed Schempp bug Damascus bolsters on the Spyderco Annniversary Delica.

Antoine,

Nice photo manipulation on that Dragonfly!

Edited for spelling.

I also have a C01 Worker with a Blanchard-engraved handle and Damascus blade. I don't know how common these are.

Beyond the Evolution Edition, it is my understanding that Spyderco sold some number of the original Damascus workers as seconds. If I remember what I've read correctly, the original Evolution run was supposed to be 1000, but they weren't able to offer that many for sell due to some sort of quality control issue.
