Chaparral in CTX XHP
new Chaparral is a very solid and very sharp knife for dress use. Can't get the picture to upload, but this is the site.

I think the idea is the longer reach of the 2 leans toward the jimping on the frn being better placed for pou than on the hilt/curve like the lil.Donut wrote:Skate, thanks for this picture. I was seeing pictures of the Matriarch 2 and kept thinking that the hook at the end was much more curved than my Lil Matriarch. I think this picture proves it.
If you put your thumb I to that position and make the motions it is clear your wrist would become restricted in confined spaces.
As this was intended for that purpose the jimping further back allows the movements of the wrist whilst not limiting the natural rotation of the joint.
The smaller blade on the lil means the jimping can be on the blade and allow the same.
If you put your thumb on the 2 blade And make a forward arc it is restricted move it back to the frn and you get a good more amount of movement.
Quite imperative if you had somebody on top of you etc etc.
I will get the lol but would also have preferred the curve to be more prominent .

Two new purchases, although neither of them is a Spydie.
ZT 0550 is the third non Spydie that I have purchased recently. What a tank of a knife, it is definitely bigger then I expected.
The other is my first Kimber. It is a Compact Stainless II. I found one with a SS frame. I couldn't be happier.

Hey Gunslinger If you can live with out the Carbon Fibre and composite blade you can buy the regular 0560 all day long for $260 or less. Still a very nice knife.Gunslinger wrote:I'm definitely going to get the ZT 0560 when I have the money. I handled one at a gun/knife show the other day. They were asking $400.00 for it.

Thanks Holland. The stock clip on the Southard is atrocious, so I've got a makeshift replacement until I can find a better solution:

My new acquisitions this week. :)
I'm really impressed with the Millie. Going to be really tough not making it my EDC. Really weel made and fits my gorilla sized mitts perfectly.
The Persian I thought would be just a little bit larger but it's a good pocket size. With its riveted washerless design it's a little stiff but already loosening up after some Remoil and working.
For those with a good eye, the 2 Caly 3.5's have swapped blades. I wanted a carbon scaled Caly and picked one up last week with ZDP-189. Found it to be a real PITA to get hair popping sharp so I picked up a G10/VG-10 FFG and swapped the blades. Now I'm happy with my carbon scaled Caly 3.5 with VG-10. Nice and light as well. Put it on the scale and weighs 0.1oz less than my G10/Super Blue Caly 3 sprint.
