Pic request: stretch, delica 4, tenacious

#1

Post by Sonik »

Hi guys,

I am fascinated by the Stretch in ZDP and heard lot of good things about this wonderful knife.
But I'll buy online and I would appreciate some pics of it side by side with two spidies I own (and know): the delica and the tenacious!

As far as I can see it seems to have an handle pretty similar to delica, but with much longer blade...

Thank you all!

Here are a couple pics. As you can see, the Stretch really isn't much bigger than the other two. And the CF Stretch is the slimmest of the bunch too. It's a very nice knife!

Didn't have a Tenacious handy, but here's my Stretch 2 FRN/ZDP in between an Endura 4 FRN/VG-10 and Delica 4 FFG FRN/VG-10.

As far as blade length, the Delica is about 3", the Stretch about 3.5", the Endura about 4". The tenacious measures about the same as the Stretch, close enough to 3.5". The Stretch is my hands-down pick because of the ergonomics of the handle. The 14mm opening hole instead of the 12mm Delica/Endura is nice also. The blade shape is really nice, too. I don't know if the picture shows it off well, but the Stretch's handle is significantly larger than the Delica.

Try them all, you can't go wrong!
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I never noticed it before, but the Stretch and the Tenacious have a similar cutting edge profile.

Thanks for the pics, I never realized how much bigger the blade of the stretch is compared to the Delica even though the handles look almost identical in length.

Here's a pic of both an FRN Delica and an older FRN Stretch. Should serve well for comparison :)

Looking at my first pic, I have to say, the Delica looks quite a bit larger than it really is in relation to the Stretch. Probably the angle the picture was taken.

The OP has gotten some good pics...so can I interrupt? Just a bit?
Does anyone else look at photos on this site and say to themselves "I've got one of those" about the 'rare' ones? I've got a CF Stretch that I absolutely love, and it tickles me when I see pics of 'it' when I peruse the forum. Just sayin'...

I'm still weighing my options. can't decide on the stretch or Delica when they are released in Super Blue... there's a chance in my new occupation that my military might just be too much knife... but I've been so used to a large blade I might want the endura instead lol...

I think the delica might win out if I change jobs. maybe I should get them all.
