Knives We Would Like to See "UNVANISH"

#1

Post by Alnamvet68 »

While my list of discontinued knives that I would like to see resurrected is a little lengthy, there is one knife I would absolutely love to buy, even at full MSRP from Spyderco themselves if they would bring it back....The "Flat Iron" with the up to the minute latest bi-directional FRN, 4 position clip, full liners and steel lock back/spacers.

What would you all like to see Spyderco come back with?

I had to look that one up for it was well before my time. Anyone care to enlighten us as to the origin of the name "flat iron"?

The flat iron was an "Ironstone Distinctive Bladeware" exclusive...they have since changed their name to Spyderco Factory Outlet, and about a thousand or so were made.

wow I had to look that one up too, and i must say I agree with your desire to bring it back.

Aside from that I most certainly want the Schempp Kris, they can have one arm and maybe even the lower half of one of my legs for one of those.

This thread needs pics.
WireEdge Roger wrote:I just received my brand new in the box Flat Iron folder. I really wish these were available, because I absolutely love the size and feel of it. The old Rescue handle is so comfortable, and that blade shape is like a long leaf pattern. Perfection!

Guess I put it on the shelf due to its rarity, but I'd sure like to carry it around!

Wow! The Flat Iron looks really amazing!

I wish they would bring back the Superleaf, if possible with different colored scales. Such an awesome knife!

Yes, and imagine it with upgraded FRN, and a sprint run in G-10 foliage green :D , some jimping top side, full steel or aluminum liners, and steel lock back and spacers. Throw in the VG-10 and I shudder to think how much more my wallet can take.

The Flat Iron looks awesome, but it probably went away for being too much like the Endura and/or Delica.

The first knife that came to mind when I read the thread title was the Centofante 4. If they were readily available again, I would use mine a LOT more.

definitely, I still don't know why they discontinued them and replaced them with the China made slip joint evil clones.
