ETA on NEW Domino?

#1

Post by PatCatMan »

I really haven't paid attention to the timeframe by which the new prototype knives show in Amsterdam to they go to production sales in the states.
Any of you guys in the know have a guess as to when we could look forward to seeing the new Domino for sale?
Thanks,
Pat

Last years models came out what seemed like randomly throughout the year and a few still aren't out yet.

Some models that seemed like they were a long ways out came out a month or two after the meet.

I would keep an eye out to see if someone says something.

After being shown prototypes generally go into production between a year and never.
Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.

I think that is a reasonable estimate. The other option is a total surprise release tomorrow.

I really hope they see the sales potential of the Domino as I do (I think it's going to be a huge success, especially if they keep a low enough price point) and place a high priority on getting it right and getting it out (ie, sooner than later). Also, I just really want one. :-)
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I think the Domino will sell well but the price tag may be tough for many. Still, I want one and plan to buy one, whatever it costs.

I will be curious to see how the Domino sales compare to the Southard's. I had mistakenly thought the Domino was smaller but in fact they are similar in size. Pretty much the same knife with the blade style being the main difference. I didn't catch what steel will be used in the Domino.

It's a great looking knife.

Bumping this one up because I'm salivating over the possibility of the Domino being released.

CTS-XHP according to Eric G in the video posted on Wouter's website.

I can't wait to get my hands on the Domino. I know the price will be on the high side, but I'm hoping for a little lower than the Southard since it's an in-house design rather than a collaboration. Although I'm fully prepared to pay the same price I paid for my Southard if necessary.

I heard late summer from a reliable source.

I believe I was present when said reliable source made this comment. Thus the reason why we were unable to play with the prototype Domino

LOL.....cmon guys, no one knows the exact date? I'd say it is mule-time.....The Domino has my attention, but not in XHP. How about a real Spyder in CPM 3V or a carbon-steel please.
