And I have 2 addresses/fake names/cards, so I think it'll be pretty easy if for some reason I magically lose all my friends.
This is one thing that gets on the bad side of some, including me on a special deal such as the forum knife.
It's Sal, Eric, Kristi, Mike's way of saying thanks to all of the people on the forum that have been around here
for a while and contributed, albiet in a small way, to the Spyderco name.

Anyone that wants information about a certian Spyderco knife can come on here and talk about it, ask questions,
get an idea of what knife that they might want to buy for themselves, or a loved one. Maybe some can't understand,
but it is a bit of family environment here.

The forum knife probably isn't a big money maker for Sal and actually probably interferes with the production knives
that they are working had to get out of Golden. The Para2 and Yo2 have been on back order for months and months.
It is Spyderco's way of saying thanks and giving back and providing something special, a keepsake, for those interested.

When someone comes on here and blatantly outlines how they are going to circumvent the situation and basically take
advantage of the two limit maximum, doesn't set well with me personally. The two limit is to help spread the wealth,
so that as many people as possible can get one for themselves and maybe to gift out or save back to pass on to a son.

When a person takes advantage, so that they can acquire more than their share, to sell on ebay or wherever, that rubs
me the wrong way and I am positive, that I am not alone.

Sorry to come out speaking like I am when I don't know anything about you and perhap your words didn't reflect exactly
what your intentions were, but this is how I perceived them. If I am wrong, I apologize.

Anyone that knows me, knows that I don't get too wound up about much, and it takes quite a bit to get on the wrong side
of me. Welcome to the very small club.

Yeah, I am pretty happy. I like the green G-10. I thought the $200+ tag on the Carbon Fiber version was going to cause me to miss the S110V, but I was surprised.

I am carrying my new Moonglow Native today. I got it Friday. :)

There was a huge uproar last time about a certain person buying multiple knifes to flip. Being a dealer it made it double-bad. While its idealistic for everyone to appreciate this as a humble gesture to the forum, it bothers me too when people make such statements. Regardless of how long they have been here.

It may end up being a small number. 3 or maybe 4 hundred. Even if everyone in this thread who replied in the affirmative was to go out and buy two, that's only like 80 knives so far.

Although most people, including yourself, were wrong in their assumptions, I completely understand and there is no need to apologise.
I don't sell on ebay and when I do buy in quantity, I NEVER sell to make ANY sort of profit, I sell stuff to people for wholesale prices and nothing more.
IF I were to somehow acquire more than 2 Natives, at least one would be given away in a contest, one would be carried, and the other sold.

I did not intend to upset anyone with my message, so, I should be the one to apologise.

I am too, very happy about this as the Native is my favourite knife, I found one years back and fell in love, that was back when I had never even heard of Spyderco.

Enjoy your day.

It's just a touchy situation. To be honest, it bothers me that any time something like this is announced on any forum where you have to be a member to be able to buy, you get a huge rush of new members flooding the forums and you never see them contribute anything and after the sale is gone they're gone with it. When those people openly admit to buying up more than they're allowed to, you can see how that quickly gets under peoples skin who come here on a daily basis to contribute what they can to the community. The fact that you openly admitted to not planning on making friends would suggest that you are in fact here just to soak up your share of the loot and then be on your way. That doesn't sit well with people who actually care about the forum and the people on it. The fact that Spyderco even allows 2 per person is pretty **** generous in my opinion, considering there are 14,481 members and there won't be anywhere near enough for each member to have one if they wanted to.

I am definitely not disagreeing with you Evil D, but I'm sure that a huge percentage of the number of members can't afford the forum knife anyway. Personally, if I could buy that expensive a knife, I would get the Techno.

No you're right, and I'm sure a huge percentage of that number are members who rarely ever come around, if at all, but suffice to say there are probably at least 1000 active members, and if the run will be less than 500 then people are going to miss out if all those people want one. Price might be the equalizer here, we'll see. I just hate seeing people miss out and then have to turn to hiked up secondary prices.

So can we go back to the part where we talk about how difficult it is to choose between this knife and the Carbon Fiber Native 5, so we just have to end up buying two of each? :D
