In-pocket knife pouch?

#1

Post by Greaser »

Now that it's getting warmer out, I won't be wearing jackets anymore (duh!), so my keys will being going back into the pants pocket. I usually like to carry both my keys and my knife in my right front pocket. I have some new knives now with frame-lock/liner-lock, etc. so the keys/coins could slide in there and get lodged or damage the blade. I don't like clipping knives on my pants, so that won't work.

Does anyone make a nice, unobtrusive pouch to keep a pocket knife in while in the pocket?

Depending on the knife you carry, you could always sew a vertical partition inside your pockets to create a pocket. I have done this for SAK and Kiwis before, but anything larger should probably have a dedicated pocket. What do you carry?

Galco makes a great inside-the-pocket suede magazine pouch that works beautifully for folding knives. It fills the pocket's outline to keep the knife in a consistent position, while still allowing the rest of the pocket to be used.

I like the little pouches that the Solos came in many years ago. They are pretty old and didn't have clips, but it would be cool if Spyderco were to do another clipless with a pouch.
