Centofante 3 and Intro

#1

Post by natebonebusta »

I'm new here, but have been a fan of Spyderco's for a few years now. They were kind of like Glocks for me to start with. I really didn't like the Glocks to start with, but came to realize the simplicity, and reliability outdid my ignorance to the design. Same goes for Spydie's, they are just so elegantly simple, and extremely functional.

I'm an edc'er of them now, and also the Delica 4 FFG is the knife I prefer to skin squirrels with. (I'm big into squirrel hunting.) It's so lightweight you forget it's in your pack. Spydie's are my first choice now, which leads me to the Centofante 3.

What a lightweight, thin bladed, looker! I received mine as a birthday gift and when I removed it from the packaging I noticed toward the heel of the blade there was a "roll" or chip in the edge. I was a little disappointed at first, but I knew I could grind the edge I wanted with my Edge Pro Apex. So instead of sending it back I re-profiled it to my liking. All the way up to a 10,000 grit edge with the Chosera stones.

I've enjoyed lurking here for a few weeks, enjoying the conversations and pics of other members spydies. Here are the pics of the before and after.

Welcome to the forums. I too am a Spyderco and Glock fan. Can't go wrong with either.

It's funny about the Centofante, I keep looking at it thinking tat I should get one. It looks
nice, is priced decent, but somehow have never pulled the trigger. I just need to do it.

Welcome and nice job on the edge!

I've thought about these several times but prefer my Vesuvius for the comp lock. In most other ways they are quite similar.

Welcome to the Forum.
Cento3 is a great knife. My friend Mark, AKA WhyNot used to have nice collection, but carried only Cento3. He did quite a renovation of his home and the only knife, which he was using was cento3. He broke a tip, but this is what coarse stones for.

Welcome Nate! I share your opinion about Spydies and Glocks. I actually purchased my first Spydie and my first Glock back in the early 90s - but I've certainly spent more on Spydies over the years... I guess there are more opportunities to use them in daily living.

Glad to have you on-board!
