Why do Para 2's have asymmetrical notches in the liners?

If you zoom in on that picture you can see a little notch on the liner. On the other liner about half an inch closer to the rear end of the knife is a similar notch.

I am curious as to the function of these notches. Is it just to help keep the liners secured in the G10?

Prior posts addressing the issue indicated that the notches are from the cutting of the liner from the metal sheet by the laser.

It's funny, i had never noticed that before, or at least if I did I forgot. (I'm old ya know)
Anyway, I pulled my PM 2 out of my pocket and took a peak with the old magnifying
glass (old eyes too), and I have them in the exact same place.

Guess I need to check my others out for cool little manufacturing marks.

That's called a Micro-Tab.

Holds the laser cut part in the sheet so it will not fall out during machining. The worker will push all of the pieces out once the entire sheet is cut.

I programmed CNC machines during an internship.
