Manix Mini?

#1

Post by Knivesinedc »

i really think a Manix mini would be a great addition to the spyderco line. i know some guys made mini/Micro manix's, but it seems as though the edge comes out as a Wharncliffe, and im not saying that's bad but some people like a significant amount of belly on their blades. so please feel welcome to share your opinion on that. :spyder: :)

Yeah but this would say MANIX instead of NATIVE on the blade. :)

I'm not a big fan of the lockbacks either. Anything new like that out of Golden would be nice.
Of course, there are so many now that I would like to have that I don't, it seems funny to
beg for another one. But....... heck yes I'm in.

Not my favorite either, but I'm fine with them. I do love BBLs&CBBLs. the original Manix and Mini Manix were lockbacks like the Native 5. The current Manix 2 and Manix 2 XL are CBBLs. I very much doubt we'll see a knife exactly like and concurrent with the Native 5 with a CBBL. I guess it's possible, but I'd say it's more likely (not VERY likely ;) ) we'll see a Native 6 w/ CBBL if Sal perceives enough demand for it.

I guess my original comment came from my "surprise" at just how similar the Native 5 and Manix 2 are to each other, size and lock aside.

They are very similar. Personally, I'm waiting (semi-impatiently) for the lightweight FRCP Native 5. I have wanted a smaller Manix 2 LTWT ever since I found out that the Manix 2 LTWT was coming out. My translucent blue Manix 2 is one of my primary EDCs ever since I got it. I just can't get enough of that blade. I think the Native 5 LTWT is the closest I'll get to that smaller Manix 2 and I don't have any aversion to lockbacks.
