That Domino looks great! Certainly a must have! Anybody know if any info was shared about the Carbon Fiber used on it? Is is smooth, or does it have a texture to it? It has an unusual pattern and I'd be interested in learning more.

Sorry, both the fluted CF para and native were not ready to be shown publicly yet. They are still ways off a production timeline. All production facilities for spyderco are apparently to capacity.

The Domino looks even better than before.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I asked Sal if it was 420 like the Caly 3 and he knew for sure it was not 420 but a much harder steel with the same harding cycles as Superblue after some thinking he said he thought it was ATS-34 but he was not 100% sure. Whats nice is that Sal also told Spyderco only uses 2 japanees company for the Superblue knives, Moki and Sakai. Moki stamps out the superblue blades, thats why they are solid Superblue but doesn't doe it for ZDP-189 and laminates the ZDP. Sakai on the other does the opposite. They prefer to laminate the Superblue and do the ZDP in one piece. Very funny IMO to see 2 maker with the same steel do just the opposite ;) And this is another trick to see where your blade is make. Laminted ZDP and full Superblue for Moki and Laminated Superblue and full ZDP for Sakai :) Thx Sal for sharing this knowledge!!

It has a texture to it, but nothing too aggressive. I do believe it's a glass fiber laminate over G10 though.

Thanks so much for your time...I have two kids myself and fully understand how difficult it is to do anything more than be a dad when they're not in school, especially my daughter ;)

If I remember correctly it is 3mm like the regular Manix2

At last!!!
The original Manix was always a knife I wanted to love, except for the fingers grooves, arcs, and butt-end profiles that never quite fitted my hands...
I reshaped a few scales to compensate...

It is/was a solid folder, and probably the toughest lock back that I ever used...

The smoothing off of the Domino as such, as Wouter mentioned, like a refined Manix 2, is rather special..and it is a flipper...

I cannot wait to try one out...

Oh great, now I gotta buy 4 more Superblue knives :p

The lamination is very cool and should be easier for the ELU to maintain. Sign me up!

Or perhaps Alex, since it's his design.

The Domino is definitely a must have. The Manix is one of my favorites and I can definitely see its influence.

The Domino was one of my favorites, the action was buttery smooth. It has the same ball-bearing pivot system as the Southard.
Additionally it felt extremly lightweight for a knife of that size.

The CF on the Domino resembles Nishijin a little bit. I have a feeling that the Domino is going to fly off the shelves. It will probably be the new "White Buffalo" when it gets released.

Safe to say that Spyderco might not be able to keep up with the demand of the Domino! It's going to sell like CRAZY!
Spyderco please make a wire clip version of the Manbug/Ladybug!

The laminated SB Delica4 kind of took the magic out for me. For some reason I see myself not "getting the full effect" with a laminated SB. Also those longterm patina posts make me want to forgo the Sprint runs and just nab something else.
