Sage 3 disassemble

#1

Post by Eastwood »

I recently bought a Sage 3 to acid & stone wash. Problem is I have No clue How to take apart the bolt lock. I'm mechanically inclined but this one has me stumped. I tried searching for the answer but I haven't had any luck. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Not many here will know the answer to that. Taking apart spydies voids the warranty unfortunately.

That being said, have you checked YouTube????

I'm too lazy to dig for it, but I believe there's at least one thread with photos of a Sage III that's been taken apart. Might not be necessary, but it wouldn't hurt to mark one side of the bolt before taking the knife apart to eliminate the chance of having it upside down when reassembling.

I realize that taking it apart will void the warranty but so will the acid & stone wash, so I'm not worried about that. I went back and worded my search a few different ways and still can't find the thread about it anywhere.

Did you search the Spyderco sub-forum over at Bladeforums?

Or try a Google image search?

I've tried searching on Google, here and blade forums. I even have a thread over there as well. Hopefully someone will have some info for me.

IT'S TRICKY! You should have some experience in working with knives, otherwise ??????
I've done it and put it back together and still works great, but it's been a while.
