friction folder pins?

#1

Post by spyder moist »

Really looking forward to the up coming Filip De Leeuw c167.
It will be a nice uk legal spyderco to add to the non locking line up.

Does anybody know what pins will be used in the production model, as there was talk that the mosaic pins will be replaced with plain brass.

Either way i will still be adding this :spyder: to the collection,
im just curious really. :)

many thanks.

I don't know for sure, I hadn't heard that the mosaic pins were going to be replaced.
Maybe someone else knows.

If the pins aren't going to be mosaic that will detract from the knifes appeal for me the only way I could let it go if the pins were ss with a spyder stamped on them...cool.
The piece needs mosaics to match its target market as a gents friction folder what with the pouch n all I hope this isn't true as small an issue as it is.

I don't believe that I have seen anything saying that the mosaic pins will not be used, its possible since its still a prototype but the image in the 2013 catalog shows a line of them down the scales.

I was reading the british blade forum, and there was thread about the new upcoming 2013 catalouge.
where this was mentioned by sal (page 3, post 34, 10th december 2012), I cant work out how to copy and paste the disscuion here as my computer skills are limited. :o , im not sure if this thread was made before the catalouge went to print.

kind regards :)

Looks like we're going to have to make the model with plain brass pins. The mosaic pins are proving very challenging to get in the quantity needed.
