Sterilized, blasted, and etched the blade to remove scratches, finished the flats in satin, removed the sharp edges from the hump and rounded the spine.

This is an outstanding mod that really makes that rare model a one of a kind!

Yes but it isn't always positioned under the choil to keep a blade from closing

I live in a pretty nice neighborhood, but I still lock my doors. It just feels safer regardless of whether or not it's needed.

Where did you get that thumbstud? I'd love to do that to my Pingo :)

I am modding a Pngo right now.
I have found that the "hole" is 3/16" (.185), so about any on this page

that has the .185 step will work, with a small mod.
I use the dual thumbstud.

It comes with a open ended screw to put it on. The step will fit snug in the hole, but if the step is too LONG, you may have to cut some off. About 20 seconds on a disc sander, about two minutes with a flat file.
The polish the whole stud up nice.
The blade on the pingo is .110" wide. that means the step LENGTH has to be less than .055 on each side to fit snug when tightened up. I found that on my Pingo, .003 filed down on each side is enough to fit it tightly.
I will use blue Loc-Tite on mine, but if you want this to never come off without heat, use red Loc-tite on the threads. Then it will at least come off, but probably won't unless you really mean it.
Oh, and tho the page says allen wrench, there's none needed.
I am cutting scales for this today, but had to order a 1/16" mill cut burr for my drill press to mill in the wire clip slots. So it will be a week or so before I show the results, here.

With proper precautions when handling/pouring no problems per se.
After vacuum treatment (and prior to cutting the outline for the scales), there were slight spots in the Nanocyl/honeycomb block, where the Nanocyl had not penetrated properly.
But that was just in the bits of the block, which were discarded anyway.
We are currently debating whether or not to skip the vaccum step altogether.

The reason I asked about the Nancyl stuff was because some people have reported some brittleness in the C-Tek when working it down.
But, it looks good when finished properly.
