Thanks for the confirmation.

Now I'm just hoping this is a Native 5 or Superchief as the regular Native was used for the last forum knife and is too small for my hand.
Our reason is quite satisfied, in 999 cases out of every 1000 of us, if we can find a few arguments that will do to recite in case our credulity is criticized by someone else. Our faith is faith in someone else's faith, and in the greatest matters this is most the case.

It can, but it's just a lot more costly to grind the hardened steel I think. And normally grinding steel would produce high temperatures and affect the steel.. but since H1 is work hardened, iono.

Which is why I was guessing H1 after I saw this post:

I think it's unlikely, since H1 is a japanese steel, and Native is a Golden knife. Maybe S90V? S110V?? :D

I would like to hear if any fixed blades were on the display cases as well. Any hints?

Here's an update from Howes:
Our first order of business at SHOT this year was a scheduled meeting with Lynette our Spyderco rep Tuesday morning and had an amazing 1 1/2 hour chat with her. We learned that Golden is not taking anymore dealer or distributor exclusives until they get their back log of Paramilitary's, Fluted Military's and Yojimbo's caught up. They have hired additional help which is about a 3 month training process before being allowed to work on their own, but still no update as to when we can expect any of these. Lynette also said if I understood her right, Golden will be adding on to their manufacturing facility sometime next year to help with the demand for US made products. We were not able to bring the list home but it seems there will be several Sprints this year not currently listed in the catalog. These will all be limited to runs of 1000 pieces ea. Two of them will be the two new releases already out, the Caly 3 Super Blue and the Calypso. We also played with the new prototype flipper designed by Eric which I think will be way bigger then the current flipper out by Spyderco. A wonderful talk with Sal that ended our meeting and we were off to meet with a few of our distributors.
*
One of the distributors is handling a Spyderco Exclusive which will be the Spyderco Stretch and will have a Damascus blade, Glass Carbon Fiber handles in Black as well as Blue. These will be a run of 600 ea and is expected sometime mid year. We have ordered several of each so watch for a newsletter on them when we know more.
