Native, Delica, or Stretch

Which do you like better. I plan on picking up one of these smaller, mid range folders for Boy Scouts because my knives that I carry right now are too big. I'm mostly leaning towards the Native Lightweight but just wanted your opinion.

Delica is the staple knife. VG-10 is a great steel. Great all around knife!

Hey Kirk,
I voted Delica just because it was my first Spyderco, (a first gen. se), and I did everything you could think of with that knife, and it's still in the rotation.
My D4 pe has gone through a lot too.
You can't go wrong with a Delica, but any of the others would serve you well also.
Good luck!
Later,
Don

Stretch may be too big...I would go with the Delica for a "smaller" knife.

Just wondering if Strech with 3.5" blade is legal to carry in NJ?
Anyway I voted Native - love ergos and choil. Also I think that "Made in US" for a boy scout can be a factor. But to tell the truth I would wait a few month N5 FRN should be out fairly soon.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian

I love the no hump of the Native, and the Delica is the staple, the Stretch is the upgrade to that IMO. So I too would go Stretch, Native then Delica.

There is no wrong answer here as all are very good choices. The Stretch is a larger knife than the Delica and Native, so that might be a consideration since you are looking for a smaller, mid range folder. Out of the Delica and Native my personal favorite is the Delica. I don't dislike the Native Lightweight, I just prefer the Native III and the Native 5 over it.

I think we have a four inch limit but don't quote me on that.

I voted Delica for the "smaller knife" requirement. The Stretch is great, but bigger. Native just doesn't do it for me.

The Stretch is a big one, but I really like it. If you want small, go Delica.

Stretch is probably my favorite knife of all time, however I can't call it the best EDC.

You said this is for Boy Scouts so I would go for the Native for the simple reason out of the three it has a bit better grip for smaller hands. Not that the other two will slip out of the hand easily but the ergo's of the Native does allow for a bit better grip.

The Delica and Native Lightweight are very good knives. That said, and in spite of my love of the Kiwi, I firmly believe that in over 30 years of designing knives the Stretch is the single best design Sal has come up with for use as a primary EDC and that the FRN version is the most hand-friendly production version so far.

Still, given your intended use and that Boy Scout troop rules regarding knives seem to vary from place to place and group to group, I'd suggest finding out for sure whether any or all of the three would be acceptable if you have not already done so.

I voted Stretch because it's the one I would want. If the Native5 was on the list instead of the Native lightweight I would probably have voted for it because I am not that big of a fan of FRN. That said, of all Spyderco's FRN knives, the Stretch is the one that MOST intrigues me. Maybe someday I'll pick one up (really wish the ZDP version was still in that cool dusky blue-gray instead of British Racing Green).

Delica, because it's a must have for me. After the native lightweight and in third position the stretch
