Odd as it might seem, I just tried inserting the knife in the opposite way, meaning flip the sheath 180, and now the edge isn't striking the bottom of the sheath when it's being inserted and removed, might be something to that, so give that a try too...
So the spine side of the knife is nearest to the smooth arch of the opening of the sheath and the guard area is near the more abrubtly curved portion of the sheath...

Here are a few images of how I now place the knife into the sheath, note the orientation, when inserted the other way, it would cause the edge to cut into the bottom of the sheath, but this way, it doesn't cut into it and the knife is remaining sharp...
I just took the info out of the box, the images of the knife sheath is opposite of the way I'm doing it, but, wrong or right, this seems to keep the edge from being abraded by the bottom of the sheath, the knife is still retained securely...

Hope that helps, I'll post this on the other thread too...

Can you do a quick comparison photo of the two?
Thanks

please please please make a plain edge H 1 version! Ideally in the leaf point or clip point shapes, this would be the ultimate hunting and camping knife in my opinion.
I understand the sheepsfoot would be great for water and rescue purposes, but an h1 leaf or clip point would be so awesome for bushcraft and skinning.

>> Crickets chirping<< Anyone? Does anyone agree that that would be desirable? If we get a few votes, maybe Sal Will hear us!broo wrote:please please please make a plain edge H 1 version! ! super-excited to get a response from the boss-man!sal wrote:Hi Broo,
We'll begin with the serrated sheepfoot in H1 first. Then we'll go from there. What blade shapes would you prefer in H1?

I would love an H1 Plain-Edge Leaf, but if there happened to be more demand for an H1 Plain-Edge Clip, I would not be too terribly disappointed :-) and please keep the black scales!
I just think for the overall intended-use of an H1 plain edge small fixed blade (camping, hunting, survival), a Leaf blade's point would be helpful for making small depressions in wood for bow-drill-firemaking, using it like an awl/hole-punch, lashing it to a pole as a last ditch spear, etc. So I vote Leaf, I think.
I think I remember hearing that making a FFG H1 was difficult / impossible, and I think a Saber grind wound be totally functional. However, I think a FFG or Scandi grind would be even better, if possible, especially since the Enuff blade sounds like it starts off pretty burly anyway.
FYI, I currently use and love and Aqua Salt for this kind of thing, but the shorter blade, handle shape, and full tang of the Enuff make it seem perfect for this intended use.
Not to mention that one could pull the scales off, wrap it in paracord, and NOT have to worry about the paracord getting wet and totally rusting out the covered steel.

I don't know if you saw this but, the holes are not round. They ALL have flats in them like a pivot. Best guess without getting a caliper, 9/64. Shade over 1/8.phillipsted wrote:Sal - I'd like the H1 in a serrated sheepsfoot myself.
A quick request for Sithus or someone with an Enuff - could you measure the pin holes in the tang? I'd like to start planning a re-scaling project (possibly textured burlap micarta).
Thanks!
