If the Sage series is designed to pay homage to knife history's innovators using your own lock would be somewhat like looking in the mirror and saying, "How YOU doin? *wink*"

This was one of the items I was hoping to see in the 2013 catalogue that was just released. Guess we will just have to wait for the mid-year supplement.

I'm in for a Sage 5 unless it has a tractor pin lock with plywood scales.

BBL with linerless FRCP? That would take some time to design.... But it wouldn't be gentlemanly, I suppose. Can you give any more hints Sal?

Isn't that pretty much a Manix 2 Lightweight with an uncaged bearing?

Manix 2 lightweight has liners, but they're extremely skeletonized.

From the Spyderco Manix 2 Lightweight Page

I think...
From the Spyderco Manix2 LightWeight Page
The Ball Bearing Lock is engineered to be self contained meaning there is no need for internal liners to support it, allowing the folder to be manufactured liner-free and extraordinarily light weight.

Very similar, just smaller. I also like the blade shape on the Sages better.

LMAO, Yeah I would have to pass on that too. Lose the plywood scales throw on some drywall scales and I'm in.

I really really hope the compression lock is on the S5, though I highly doubt it :( .

A flipper doesn't really fit in the Sage line. It's all about locks... and the domino is probably as close to a Sage flipper as we will see.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)
