Sold out already? It seems like the first run took many months to slowly sell out.

Yeah. The thing I don't "get" is why people routinely pay eBay sellers way over the price they could pay a normal dealer.

People are probably desperate for a bit of the blue stuff (Breaking Bad reference too).

My blue stuff should hopefully arrive soon. Next day or two. Hopefully it doesn't get intercepted. ;)

Having whinged I couldn't get my Xmas para 2 anywhere I took a look at ordering a blue para yesterday but something kind of put me off. I got a bit of a shock when the shipping costs to Blighty came up as $999,999,999...a quick email and they kindly dropped that to $50 as long as the total bill was paid through PayPal as owed - so I'd be picking up all the paypal costs and have no comeback at all if my order got screwed or something. Plus they had stated condition of sale that if you found anything wrong with the knife you are instructed to return it to Golden, not point of sale. The dodgy sales conditions just scream "steer clear" to me. I'm sure they are trustworthy and all above board, but no thanks. I'm not a betting man or a desperate collector so I'll wait for the bog standard para 2 to come back into stock somewhere. In fact, I may just buy a Millie instead.

I don't think the return policy is "dodgy" - here's a snip from a dealer that is very highly regarded by members here:

Returns/Exchanges

We try to be very competive on our pricing of all products which doesnt leave us much room for returns and shipping another product back out at no charge. Returns have become a real issue of late......Therefore all product that is on SALE, LOWERED PRICING (HOT DEALS) or that are SPYDERCO SPRINT RUNS, other Manufacturers Sprints or Exclusive Runs will have to be returned to the Manufacturer. ALL MAXPEDTION products will also have to be returned to the Manufacturer for any QC issues with product. We are more than happy to visually check any product when asked but there are times when we get busy that it might be impossible to do so.

(snip)

6) We will NOT be accountable for problems with manufacturing or workmanship, therefore those issues will have to be addressed to the manufacturer and will have to returned to them as we are not authorized to handle warranty issues.

I wish they would do another run of these. I want some more M390 in my life but don't want to pay the exorbitant ebay prices.

I hope that Spyderco will make a sprint run or production Para2 M390 in a near future. Easier to purchase than some exclusives knives which are excluding international buyers with expensive shipping fees or other binding policies. Image

Maybe it's just my perspective - in Blighty its more common to return stuff to point of sale - over here you wouldn't expect to have to send your beans back to Heinz or your VW back to Germany without going to the vendor first.

That said I've just found a big US dealer with stock of plain old s30v para 2's...

I see a blue m390 on ebay right now for $274. Is that too much? I mean will these come around again?

That's a hard question to answer - best source might be emailing BBS to ask if they have any plans for more (or whether there are still knives from the 2nd run that they haven't received yet from Spyderco)? IME they're very responsive to emails.
