I see others have already posted. But here are a couple more. The Southard is thicker, but not enough to be noticeable, IMO.

Great knife. Kicked the Para2 out of the pocket. With a little change.

It's a Para2 clip using the right most hole then shaved down the left side till the holes disappeared. It holds the knife a little more vertical in the pocket. Plus it feel more comfortable to me. The stock clip in the pic below was fiddled with also.

My pocketclip mod needs stone washing before its complete.

The first steps are done however as I've rounded all corners and acid etched it.

Nice what did you use to etch it with?

Southard has a 0.531" handle thickness (measured by BladeHQ in their video) and Para 2 has 0.455" thickness.

And while people are sharing their clip mods, here's mine...

Some great clip mods here guys!

Just curious, What is it that most of you arnt likeing about the clip.

The comments I'm getting the most is

Doesnt match frame, aka not titanium
The tip is a little sharp.

Would love to here if thats how you feel as well.

If you bend that clip over a little bit, off the lockbar it will slide in and out of your pocket a little eaiser. Sometimes if the clip is right above the lock relief like that, the seam of your pants can catch inside the lockbar as you withdraw the knife. On a clip with high tension it can practically get stuck!

I'm still waiting on mine so its hard to judge 100% but from all the pictures and YouTube vids I have been looking at, I kind of like the clip the way it comes original. Nothing wrong with a little contrast.

I haven't been this impatient to receive a knife in a long time. Can't wait to get this one and starting using it.

On the clip, in my opinion...compared to the amazing quality of design, materials and manufacturing, the finish on the clip is a little "meh." :) Personally, I like the design of the clip very well, but the finish clashes a bit with the very nice stonewash finish on the titanium. :spyder:

Hi Brad

The knife is almost perfect, but like a few have stated; the clip is a bit meh.. If it was rounded off a bit and in matching ti it would improve the overall look and feel.

I've replaced mine with a thin STR ti clip making it ride lower and more discretely.

Just a side question for the Spyderco crew. What made you guys decide to step away from the steel insert on the RIL this time around?

Hi, Brad,

It's a real beaut as is!

Did you consider an all-ti version?

I'm looking forward to getting one of these when the initial rush dies down and they become more readily available. Can anyone explain what the small G-10 insert is for on the titanium side? See green highlighted area in pic:

It to prevent overtravel of the lockbar! Like the Hinderer Lock Stop.
