Flatbyrd questions

#1

Post by B#GuitarMan »

Hi everyone. Just received my Flatbyrd which I purchased for a very low price on eBay. It is extremely stiff opening so I loosened off the pivot screw but no change. I then took it apart and discovered something weird. There are two plastic bushings (one for each side) but only 1 phosphor bronze bushing. I don't think this is the way it should be. Has anyone taken theirs apart recently? If so, let me know what should be there by way of bushings.

Hi B#Guitarman,

Welcome to our forum.

We haven't made the model for quite a while. Don't think there are any around here to check. Did you solve the problem?

Hi Sal,

Thanks for responding. I'm pretty sure there should be another PB bushing on the other side because the blade just doesn't seem right when deploying. Maybe someone else can jump in on this one. I may ask Warranty and Repair if they can sell me another bushing. Are they all the same size?

I just looked at mine and it appears to have only nylon washers.
