Pygmy Warrior, Pocket Hobbit, Sifu

#1

Post by Tonie Nichols »

I have an Al Mar Warrior and a REKAT Hobbit and will probably soon reacquire my original Pocket Hobbit. I had a REKAT Sifu.

So what news on the Spyderco version of these?

I bought the Spyderco Warrior version with the black blade and would sure like to add these next three to my collection.

I'm looking forward to these too. I only have a Rekat Savant in my collection at the moment, but I hope to acquire a Pocket Hobbit and Sifu at some point.

Hi Tonie,

The Pygmy is being built now. The other two are slowly being worked on. We have to make a lot of mods to "Spyderize" the models so it's a "redesign".

That would be interesting to see a folding Pygmy.

The REKAT Pygmy (only 3 protos made) was a fixed blade version of the Pocket Hobbit (folder) with a thinner handle. I did the sheaths for the REKAT Pygmy prototypes.

In any case, it would be interesting to see spyderco's take on a REKAT Pocket Hobbit.

Would love to see Spyderco do a version of both the Pocket Hobbit and the Sifu, but like Sal said, it'll probably be a while because of Spyderizing the basic design. Main reason would be re-designining the lock for these knives which originally used the Rolling Lock.

Like Spring, the Pigmy Warrior is one of those things I'm looking forward to.

Personally, I'd love to see a folding Warrior, it would be really hard to design though.

I am intrigued by the possiblity of the Sifu and would be even more intrigued by a Carnivore. The Carnivore is the one knife that stands out for its ergonomic "feel" in the hand.
