CF Dodo is out

Or at least it looks like. One already was sold on the bay yesterday. Just wondering if it is shipped. After I get mine, I will need one more in dark green G10. Steel upgrade would be nice. Something Carpenter, please.

Maybe Knifeworks will do a Green one in CTS-204p to match the Para2 that will eventually arrive. One can dream... :)

Or Bento Box with a tan CPM-M4 Dodo. Why not? :D

I don't think Bento was too happy with how the Tan/M4 Manixes sold. I would expect them to do something more unique. I think Tan M4 Dodos would do very well.

How about a Tan CTS-204P Native 5 or Fluted Titanium CTS-20CP Native? :p

Oh, thanks for the news, I have been on pre-order for the CF Dodo for MONTHS. :)

I have one on pre-order as well. And I love your Native ideas. I am in. Probably I should be ashamed, but lately I am using N5 more than my Calys. I really love the feel in my hand.

I absolutely love the dodos but $200 seems awfully expensive for one rocking s30v steel. Maybe that's just me though. Definitely feels like the sprints runs have been jumping up in price lately.

1/31/2011 - :spyder: Endura 4 Blue.

It was a production knife years ago. It was discontinued, I think due to a slowdown in sales.

They should call this thing the Stealth Dodo because it is so difficult to find information on. :)

I too would like to have a full time dodo to choose from I mean the mark up in the uk means about $400 so it's not a impulsive buy unless I get rich.
I know sal ends production on models based on sales maybe it wouldn't be consistent enough but it would be nice .
Even making a few concessions to lower the costs but on the other hand it could be a **** good marketing strategy on Spyderco,s behalf by making sure they are pretty much sold by the time they are released .
Either way I want one .

Edit two posts above explains , but times have changed there are definatly more Spyderco customers than there were a few years ago .

ugh, I don't even have a shot on this sprint. My only hope is they keep doing Dodo Sprints.
The CF won't happen as much as I want it to, I'll have to hunt for orange or the next dodo sprint they do, its actually my favourite carry knife so far.
Boo urns....

Bladekeeper, keep looking for ppl who are selling the Dodo, specify sprint if that's what your looking for. I found a Caspian once it was discontinued, and have had offers on the Orange Dodo (had not cash on hand) Some knives you find, others you may need to let go... I'm saying good-bye to the CF Dodo unless things change....
Good luck

Thanks half sack the main problem is I'm in the uk and I could buy a unused here but in terms of buying from the us we get hit so hard I might as well buy new .
The situation is that even if I was to get a friend to buy one and post it I'd still pay tax/duty plus handling fee and the postage is taxed too, labelling it as a gift will only count if it's £40 or under .
I talked to sal a while back as Spyderco make no more shipping a knife here than they do a mile away , asking about setting up a eu based distribution centre, as if it's sold within the eu no tax.
But it's not going to be economically viable , what gets me is the lion spy is made in Italy shipped to the USA and is still cheaper than it is here ? .
But I know that's nothing to do with Spyderco just our money grabbing halfwit government.

I just lost an entire post...
I hear you BladeKeeper, sometimes it just doesn't work out. You may find a Dodo for a reasonable price, keep looking and let it be known (ie Signature/posts) that your looking.
Start sending messages to your local suppliers, etc. If you can price match go for it.

Honestly dealing with the non-factory sucks but you can find great businesses to work with. I've done well with both private sellers and websites, but I did well, I don't think everyone gets perfect deals.

I think I asked New Graham to call me or email when this became available, wonder if they've still got the list hanging around.

We have a great website called hh all the staff go above and beyond to help and they only save on bulk they really are the best business I have dealt with.
I don't want to be constantly stating problems but I live due to my wife's business 3 months in hand so it makes wanted ads really difficult.
But the chase is part of the fun right and so far the knife community have restored my faith in kindness I have had people send me things and go out of their way to help.
I think this is great and something we should be proud of all the best.
