How many of each?

#1

Post by Ninja »

Is there a way to find out how many of each knife was made? I was curious how many first run manix 2 moonglows were made. also how many orange millies and orange dodos specifically. but also how many of other knives as well. such as the Q the R or the S. or even the meerkat burgundy. Does anybody know? or does anybody know where i can find this information?

Thanks in advance

You can find quite a bit of that information on Spydiewiki (see link in my signature). Spyderco doesn't always say how many are being produced, so it may be hard to track down exact numbers on all those models.

IIRC, the EDC Forum Manix 2s first run was 600 pieces.

600 sounds right, I'm not sure how many were in the second run.

Regarding the Q, there are two "generations" and over 70 different patterns of them, produced in quantities ranging from a few pieces to over 60,000. The best resource for them is the list found about halfway down this webpage. There are, however, a couple caveats. It's not 100% complete, I have two that aren't on it, which makes me suspect there may be others missing. I also suspect, based on the relative frequency some patterns appear on eBay, that some of the quantities may be wrong. There appear to be a couple typos as well.
