Red Crested Web Footed Lake Loon

#1

Post by BAL »

Has anyone ever heard of/or seen a Red Crested Web Footed Lake Loon. Just curious, that's all.
Actually, I think that is was a web footed red crested lake loon.

Most won't have a clue what I am taking about and most won't care.
Sorry to bother you, but life is too tough to always be serious.
A few older members with a good memory might remember though. ;)

I've not heard the call of the web footed red crested lake loon. But I have participated in a lot of snipe hunts... :)

Yep, Back to Nature. Love to watch the re-runs over and over.
I'm a bit old fashioned about some things. The old TV shows
were simple and some things might have been a bit silly, but
they still put a smile on my face.

I used to wait for my dad to get home from third shift as I was a young teen. We would watch older episodes of M.A.S.H. Those were some of my fondest father-son memories.

The wife and I will sit in front of the TV at night after a long days work surfing
thru the dials looking for something to put on as we read the paper and what-not
and about half of the time we stop and catch an old episode of Andy Griffith,
M.A.S.H., Cheers, heck even Gunsmoke and Bonanza.

I remember as a kid watching Gunsmoke at 9:00 on a Saturday night with my
Grandparents. Back in the day, before all of the computer/technology stuff,
watching TV at night was a family thing. We only had one TV in the house and
we would all sit around together.

Those days are gone.

Yes. They do not migrate and they only live on the northern border of central North Carolina. Since they are so rare they can only be hunted with a snare.

This is the most unexpected first post ever, and I mean that only in a good way. Welcome to the forum.

I don't know how this one got past me, but it is 8 years old. Kneebarstar, you dug up an oldie, but still funny thread.

I enjoyed many episodes of this show with my father. Goober Pyle aka George Lyndsay was childhood friends with my great Uncle and my grandmother didn't much like him as she was only a year older and surely didn't appreciate her younger brothers antics, but being from Jasper she mainly just shook her head anytime he was brought up. I have seen a lot about the show recently as a point of controversy over the absence of people of color. All my dad ever mentioned was that the black and white episodes where better than when they swapped to color
