I am just curious to how people carry their knives.
I carry a Endura 4 ffg plain black, front pocket tip up, right
And a Resilience tip up, left with a wave in my back pocket so it deploys in a reverse grip.

My option is...whatever way it came. Don't care to much, all personal preference.

I am a fan of no clip...especially in a small knife. But as a lefty I obviously want lefthand carry and I like tip down. Because I pinch the pivot to draw the knife out and then it just swings down and I am holding the knife as I would. To me tip up is extra work...

The Military and Harpy are tip down/right -- no big deal.

Mostly no clip, loose in my pocket. Larger Spydies ride in the left back pocket, small ones in the watch pocket. Do have a couple I carry occasionally that get clipped, tip up, in my right front pocket and one which I carry infrequently that gets clipped tip down in my left front pocket.

I prefer tip up, but im so used to my para 1 d2 and my lil temp (which isnt tapped for tip up) that tip up actually feels wrong lately. I thought tip down was lame till i was forced into it but i venture that i feel equally about them now. Which kind of ruins the aesthetics without good reason for all the models with four way holes i see everywhere these days...

Tip up right front pocket unless it's a Military or Police or Endura then I prefer tip down because of the length of the handle.

If possible I like to clip my knives tip down but with the spine of the blade resting against the outside seam of my right front pocket. I think this would actually make it left-hand carry, wouldn't it? The reason for doing this was that I caught my hand at the thumb ramp jimping one time too often for my taste. Ouch. Might be because women's pockets are always way too tight or something :-p But this way works just fine for me and I really appreciate any knife with a 4-way clip because of this.

Not just a women's jeans thing, i have the same issue with carrying tip down. Every time you reach into your pocket that jimping is there to scrape the crap out of the side of your hand. I use all my pockets to carry something so it's a constant aggravation for knives like the Military, but it's also a necessary evil for me when carrying knives as long as the Military.

I buy the knife and deal with the configuration. Tip up for right handed is the preferred tho.

Good to know that this issue seems to be a common problem for others too and not only me being clumsy ;) I just don't know all that many people carryings knives in daily life so I couldn't ask anyone :)

I hardly ever use my pockets so jimping is not an issue.

Tip up, no clip. When ever I get a new knife I try it with the clip for a day or two, always end up removing them.

Most of the time when it's an option, tip up in right pocket.

But I like to carry tip down in my back right pocket, also. Many knives I carry in my back right pocket don't offer tip down carry option.

The thing for me is consistancy. I use tip-up, right hand pocket. Larger knives (GB, Sage4) I normally use a pouch but the knife is in the pouch in the same position. This way I don't need to think about the position of the knife when I get it out of my pocket or pouch. Sometime I do carry a knife loose in my pocket. I "prefer" the pivot towards the front of the pocket but sometimes that's harder to control when I just drop in into my pocket. Like I said, consistancy in the position of the knife upon initial removal from storage location (pocket/sheath :) ) is what I like. However, with knives that I want and use if there is only one clip position possible, or just tip-down it doesn't matter. It's about the last thing in my "list of likes" in a knife.

Tip up seems to be the favorite of up/down. Right hand pocket seems to REALLY be a favorite. Imagine it's because there are fewer lefties in the world. It's a good thing since they aren't as intee, inttelg, initel, smart as righties. :)

Just in case someone didn't get it, that was an attempt at humor. :)
