Thanks Sal and crew. These are priced very reasonably as I expected.

Thanks Sal. Got one on order so I don't have to go "naked" when visiting Denmark (my daughter wants to go to Legoland :D )

Excellent!

Would it be safe to assume based on the steel that this will likely be made in italy, alongside its cousin the squeak?

I'd say so: http://www.spyderco.com/catalog/list.php?origin=Italy

Have one more design we're working on for Denmark, then we'll begin talking about the other "Viking" lands. What can you carry in Norway?

Gail and I kep thinking about that cruise up the coast you mentioned. Need an excuse to test a knife. ;)

Glad I stopped in! This is the first I've heard of the Spyderco Pingo and I really dig it. Always wanted a mini Rock Lobster... :)

Hi Sal

Cruise is a good plan :D Hurtigruta from Bergen and Northwards is very nice.

Norwegian laws are pretty vague (no knife is really legal to carry unless you have a decent reason). I usually carry a Military or if I want to be PC I carry either a Para 2, Stretch 2 or PPT. The P2 and S2 have ti low rider clips from STR to keep them discrete. A slip joint of non offensive appearance is wise if one is out drinking with mates in the city just to be on the safe side.

When working outdoors (I'm a biologist) I can legally carry whatever I want and usually carry either a Military, Dayhiker, Buschraft or a custom from Fiddleback forge.

Knowing you and Gail a bit I don't think you'd get in trouble with local law enforcement for carrying a folder ;)

Cheers

That's a good-looking piece, but, for those of us NOT going to Denmark, what is the attraction of a folder that takes two hands to open?

IMHO, it's the elegant design and premium steel in a compact design. A SAK is a two hand opener, yet they are as popular as they were for decades and decades. I love locking knives and one hand openers, but they only satisfy a portion of my knife cravings and needs.

Exactly. Not to mention that, given the size and location of the "trademark protection hole", I'd bet we'll be seeing Pingos sporting everything from zip-tie "ghetto" to sapphire inlaid thumb studs before the year is out.

How about someone with time on their hands enlarging the hole so it's large enough to actually use. :)

Prison Industries may want to bid on the work.
