Yes, that should be a real performer at that hardness. I expect a great deal from this steel. I definitely would like to see it in a folder when Spyderco gets some production time available. First choice is P2, but I'll take any that come out.

Sounds fantastic. Thank you for putting the extra time into this project to really showcase each steel. Never had any BG-42, but with a powdered version of it featuring your heat treat, I think I should be just fine.sal wrote:Target was 62/63. Mine Rc'd at 62.5.

Sebenza's were the first knives that I saw offered in BG-42. I'm quite sure it was available before then, but that's when I took notice. CTS B75P doesn't look like a monster steel with regard to alloy content, but at the expected hardness, it should still be impressive. It's a relatively simple steel with a decent amount of Molybdenum and a little Vanadium. I would imagine due to the chemistry and the powder metallurgy process that it should be relatively fine grained as well. Corrosion resistance should be good and I expect it to be relatively easy to sharpen.
I keep coming back to some of the Mules as favorites and they're not always the "best" steels with regard to edge holding. My 52100 is one of my favorites, largely because it takes a very nice edge with little effort. I have very high hopes that this will be another favorite. Hmmm...now, what do I want for scales?
