Adventura Forum Knife
Adventura Forum Knife
I just received a Spyderco Adventura Forum knife. NIB, even has the plastic on the scale.
It is my 2nd Adventura. I bought one, LNIB, and liked it, so thought I would get a user. When I received this one, it is a better keeper, so I am putting the 1st one into my EDC rotation.
I am just wondering how many of the Adventuras were made as a forum knife.
The blade on this one is etched Spyderco Forum, blah, blah..
Any one know?
thanks.

WOW, really?bh49 wrote:IIRC certificate says 125 or less than 125. I can double-check when I get home
Are these an early run in the production?
Reason why I ask is it is etched
"Spyderco.com
Forum Knife 2005"
And the box has a JE code.
It came with the plastic bag, but no paperwork.
The one in my pocket has a BF code on the box.
I am taking pics today. I ALWAYS take pictures of what I put into the safe for the Insurance.
Just got this about 6:00 this morning. UPS must have come by late last night. Just happened to see the package when I went out for the paper.
Had to have been here over night as the package was damp from the dew.
So, if you REALLY want to see pictures, come back later today. Will be glad to post a few.

Good memory, Roman! FWIW, both my Forum and regular Adventura are from that first run. Boxes are marked JE and I suspect the boxes for the entire first 1200 piece run are marked that way.bh49 wrote:IIRC certificate says 125 or less than 125. I can double-check when I get home

Thank you for a look at that Certificate image. I definitely don't have that. The Deacon wrote:Good memory, Roman! FWIW, both my Forum and regular Adventura are from that first run. Boxes are marked JE and I suspect the boxes for the entire first 1200 piece run are marked that way.
I am searching for some Lightning Strike Carbon fiber to rescale the user one I have. Found some, but they are cut too short, so have an email in to see if I can get a set cut long enough.
I have some 316 Stainless and will grind out a small plate to mill into the scales for clip holes. But it looks like everything else would work, OK. CF is some strong stuff.
I can't keep the hoods down on my old cars, either, LOL.

I knew that you will clarify before I get home :)
I believe that Alex put CF on one of them and posted pictures. If Spyderco would put G10 or CF scales on adventura, instead of SS, I would still carry it. I love ergos and the blade. I gave my adventura to a friend in 2006. He still carries it.RoBoTech wrote: I am searching for some Lightning Strike Carbon fiber to rescale the user one I have.

Yeah, that's where I got the idea, from a thread here on that subject.bh49 wrote: I believe that Alex put CF on one of them and posted pictures. I can do that. Just need the materials.
The LS CF is some nasty stuff to work with. It can mess your lungs up BAD! And the bronze fibers can stick in exposed skin, so you have to keep covered up.
Have to take a lot of precautions with it. But, I think the results speak for themselves.
I have worked with Kevlar blocks as knife scales, too. Will NEVER do that again.
I will post the finished mods into the gallery section, when I get it done in a couple of months.
