Custom delica plans

#1

Post by JET27 »

When I started EDC-ing, all I had were a few lousy assisted knives (and one nice one). They were fine, but I wanted something more reliable and less threatening. I looked at all kinds of folders from nearly every manufacturer, in every price range, and every philosophy of use that you could imagine. I finally decided upon a delica 4 ffg with orange frn. I have yet to purchase this knife and I am dying to get my hands on one. I have decided what I want to do. I plan to stonewash the blade, replace the clip with a low rider (and stonewash it as well), put an orange zip tie through he spyderco hole, and convex the blade, and give it a mirror finish. I can do jus about all of this myself, except the convexing and mirror finishing the edge. I am asking for two things if you don mind helping me. The first thing is that I would like a little bit of feedback and advice about my plan from those with more experience in knife modification. The other thing that I need help with is I need to find someone who can convex and mirror the edge after the blade is stonewashed. How much should I expect to spend on such sharpening? I am new to he forum, so I appologize in advance if I have broken some sort of rule.
Thank you to all who have served.

Now that I think about it, I don't really want a convex or polished edge, I just want it to be back to at least factory sharp. Will spyderco sharpen my knife for me after I stonewash the blade?

Send it to Albert at Seatle Edge. He's beyond good.

Probably, but it wouldn't hurt to call Warranty & Repair and confirm that before sending the knife in.
