I think I would have to pass on a titanium Para 2. I had the G10 UKPK and the Titanium UKPK. The titanium was nice, but not as light as the G10. One of the reasons I love the Para 2 is because of the lightness. I think the titanium would raise the weight too much.

I prefer the heft and feel of Titanium. I should just add Ti to my list of guilty pleasures, I love everything in made out of it. With that said, if Spyderco makes a Ti Para 2 I'm buying 2 and instantly considering it a favorite.

Interesting idea. I don't recall seeing a compression lock on an all metal handle before. I would most probably like it but purchase will depend on the price.

Oh, the technology certainly exists. See, e.g., the Titanium ATR. The only thing standing between you guys and your Titanium Para 2 is a giant groundswell of public demand.

Thanks dj moonbat. Though I had seen the Ti ATR in the catalog before, the uniqueness of the concept did not grab my attention. I usually focus on the knife blade design first and then look at the handles.

Making the locking leaf part of the handle itself will reduce the need to incorporate a steel locking liner. However, a steel insert might be needed to match the hardness of the metal.

I would not consider one if the Ti handle was drilled out. If it was fluted/anodized Titanium, that I would like.

TO Anyone who wants Ti on their Para 2, John Grismo (think thats his name) is just working out the kinks in the para 2 code for his CNC (hes the guy who makes all the aftermarket aluminum manix handles you see around), and once its fixed he should be selling aluminum, g10, Cf, and Ti handles through his website. So bam, you should be able to have whatever you want on it.

John's site is at http://www.johngrimsmo.com/index.htm. It looks like he's running through the process of getting Para2 scales into production. Once he's got the CNC dialed in, I'm sure the sky's the limit in terms of scales - aluminum, titanium, lightning strike CF, glow... Mmmmmmmm.

I'd like a Ti Para 2, but preferably if the blade and scales are stonewashed. I really like that look, and you don't have to worry much about it getting scratched. Just like the Techno's finish. Fluted Titanium would also be nice.

I knew of him already from his Manix scales but I don't really follow him. It's great news though, his stuff looks to be quality and decently priced. Thanks for the heads up for sure.

Given that the ti Military seems to sell faster than they can make them, I wouldn't rule out a ti Para 2. However, if they do, I really doubt they'd change the lock. A compression frame lock is far more likely than a RIL.

I would only be interested if it was was reeve integral lock tbh, would love a mini version the ti millie. The exposed comp looks off to me, and wouldn't pay the high price just for the sake of slapping on some scales.
