Why doesn't the Matriarch 2 have jimping but the Lil Matriarch does?

Blade shape.
Lil matriarch has a straighter blade with a usable belly, Good for slicing with a back and forth action. This cutting method would lead to you putting a positive pressure forwards with your hand in some circumstances. On any knife where forward pressure may be applied( slicing or stabbing) jimping will help prevent your hand sliding forward onto the cutting edge and doing personal harm.

On the Matriarch 2, the blade shape prevents it being used for slicing and stabbing chores and lends itself primarily to a swiping motion... as it was designed. You'll never stab with a Mat 2. neither will you slice your tomato or cheese. Thus, jimping is pointless. If your hand slips while using a Mat 2 as it was designed, the cutting edge will slide away from your hand. No harm done.
