Spyderco C109 (Polliwog) Tactical Folding Knife FAKE

Post by Wildernest Survivor »

Another Polliwog fake, from the same scamming seller as my previous thread:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spyderco-C109-T ... 6rk%3D2%26

Reported as a fake.

Thanks for all of your help. If we are vigilant in reporting these blatant fakes, I hope that eBay will take them more seriously. It seems that only a small group of sellers are responsible for most of the fakes. If only eBay would actively watch their accounts - you know, like they claim they do once you receive a "reported item notice". :(

It's pretty bogus if this guy keeps selling knock offs and nothing is done. Trying to contact ebay is such a pain in the rear with a specific question and I really don't feel like calling them. I really would like to know how many times a member needs to be reported for selling fakes before their account is suspended.

Probably, but it may depend on which one you actually receive. The one in the photo with the box and pouch is definitely a fake. The large pivot is a dead giveaway. The one(s) in the two other photos may, or may not, be real. Pivot bolt on them is the correct size/type for the real Poliwog so, aside from being in the same listing as the first photo, there's nothing that jumps out and screams fake about them.

I just reported a fake polliwog that's got 24 bids and over 124 bucks on eBay right now. Reported fraud to eBay. That's sad... Thanks all ,, it is a good fight, Joe Maddox
