The Spyderco Santoku is one of my favorite kitchen knives. I do however have one small problem. When I slice things like an onion or a zucchini, the sliced off pieces stick to the blade like a suction cup. While this happens to some extent with other knives, the pieces really adhere to the Santoku. Is this a technique problem or do others see this? Maybe it's supposed to do this?
I would rather have cut pieces fall away from the blade.

I've noticed this also but it hasn't been too much of a problem cutting vegetables. However it was a real nuisance when I was cutting potatoes into wedges, the cut potato just didn't want to let go. Now I use a small Utility knife for the wedges without any problems. I think the Granton edge on the <a href="http://www.spyderco.com/online_product_ ... memaker</a> is designed to prevent this by breaking the vacuum. BTW the Santoku is also my favourite kitchen knife.
