Thanks for posting this,

Your technique is a bit advanced for me, you are clearly a ballisong Dude.

I hold mine horizontal, depress the lock- Blade falls free and I rotate it over then press home.

Your technique is cool though, I just know I would lose fingers if I did it. I am not that lose in the fingers.

Cheers

I have found that I'm able to use my index finger to release the lock, while my thumb grabs the Spydie hole and pulls the blade closed in a single motion. I don't have to change my grip, and there are never any digits in the path of the blade.

I just let the blade drop with a little wrist action(to much wrist and it will slam the blade closed with bounce-back) after depressing the lock with my right index finger. My right thumb is on the opposite scale.

Just like this, only mine free falls as long as the lock bar is fully depressed. I don't need any wrist action. It's the fastest closing knife I own.

I either do the pinch and rotate, or I reach over and press the lock with my thumb, then turn my hand to drop the choil onto my pointer finger, then turn the knife and press it closed with my thumb.

I'll see if I can't get you a video of me doing it.

I do something similar to you chuck but just press my thumb right to left (left side of thumb contacting lock tab).

That or I pinch/down-flick and use thumb to close via hole.

For sharp blades, or in the case of my very sharp Para 2, I don't want fast moving blades near my fingers so I close my folders in a slow and deliberate motion where I can see that the fingers are clearly out of the way of the sharp edge as it moves by. I hold the knife as shown, push the lock with my second finger, push the blade up with my first finger and then close it.

This, I just flick it close and relase the tab to catch the blade, easy.

With thumb and forefinger I pinch the lock and flick her shut. Probably not the safest way to close it (given I am really only holding onto one side of the knife) but it gets the job done.

That's a bit slow and tedious for me.

I close like this:

Interesting. My favorite thing about the CL is how you can press the lock and snap the blade closed without ever touching it.

That's true but I got used to that from not wanting to bang my blade into the handle when I got my first sprint para 2. :D
