I see the picture is showing out of focus of the optic, which generally will see very little light. Are you saying the Peak puts out less light than the Zebralight on low low?
My Zebralight H60w supposedly has 0.4 lumens, but compared to my other lights with less than 1 lumen of output, it seems to put out much more light. Even a novatac or hds on level 3 or 4 puts out less light than my Zebralight.

Yea it's a horrible picture. In actual beam brightness the lowest the Peak will go is a fraction of the .2 lumen SC51w. It's probably on par with the HDS but a much more crude system with some QTC flickering. The threads on my 40DD pendant light (also QTC) are much better and it even goes lower. It's on par with a very dim Tritium cell glow or blown out match head.
It's interesting that at a fraction of a lumen a 100% increase is a big deal. One would think the jump from say 500-700 lumens would be more obvious but it's not.
Twist QTC light are pretty crude but I dig them. The price is great and having the varying brightness w/o momentary flashes is a luxury. Every so often I mess up with my Zebralight and 170 lumens goes off at midnight in the bedroom. Oops! :o
[quote="Leatherneck"]The brand new Lumapower EDC series are great lights and very inexpensive. The little LM21 puts out 100 lumens on one AAA and up to 350 lumens on a 10440. Triple mode and a forward clicky for $29.95.
My next AAA is gonna be a Peak Eiger Ultra. They mated the Logan head (AA/CR123) for like 3 times the throw. It's hard to find an AAA that isn't pure flood due to the small head relative to the emmiter.

Anyone notice any LED noise from their AAA light on the lowest mode. I had a Preon 1 that I love on my motorcycle that gave off a pretty high pitched scream when in the low mode only. I ordered a replacement and haven't noticed any noises yet. The Ti Preon 1 does not make a sound, but the older Nitecore D2 that uses 2 AA batteries made a similar noise on the moonlight setting especially when batteries were low.

I have a Fenix LD01 that I absolutely love. It is with me every day. I have the stainless steel model which might be a little heavy for a keychain, but the black aluminum is lighter and cheaper. About the size of a tube of chapstick and has a nice spread of levels with good battery life.

Yea that does occur on some lights at some levels. It's annoying and all the more reason to have more modes available if possible. Kinda like knives and their quirks not every model will whine at the same level, it's pretty random.
Another vote for Fenix!
I have been using fenix for field work and most of my colleagues have already joined the bandwagon. Our current impression on current Fenix lineup are superb!
No noise from my Preon. I used to have a Preon Revo and gave it to my father in law seeing how impressed he was with it. Now I can't find a replacement and ended up with a regular one.
My SS Fenix LD01 does make a noise on low and mid but it's only audible when I put it next to my ear.
