I dreamt that someone at Spyderco was printing the forum knife 2012 paper insert and the barcode tags. The tags read LF. I awoke before I could see the model.

Due to some recent comments I got, I will not post anything on this thread again.

So If anyone was offended by my posts, tough luck. Nothing I can do about that.

My thanks to those forum members who asked direct questions to which I have replied.

I'm new to the forum and just found this thread. Have they done this before and is there any limit to who is eligible to get one of these?

Welcome to the forum.
During the years Spyderco made quite a few Spyderco Forum knives (as well as BF knife, USN knives and EDC forum knife).
You can find the pictures at Paul's website
http://paulberetta.com/Forum%20Knives/
Any forum member is eligible. So today is your lucky day - you learn about forum knife and now you need to get one. Just be patient. Nobody except Spyderco knows for sure what it will be.

I would say this creates a whole new ball game doesn't it? I mean to me "Prototypes" says something new, not some existing model with a different color handle or blade material. Or am I thinking to far outside the box?

Intriguing but I think you're reading too much into it. For it to be a forum knife, SOMETHING has to be different, and if something is different the first one you hold in your hand would be called the prototype, even if it was just a different color or etching or whatever. I'm excited no matter what; waiting with baited breath, as they say.
