**knife storage options**

Hey just kinda wondering what everyone out there is using now days to store their GEMS in? IM tired of shoe boxes! Plus I've already got two filled up! (about 30 knives) Im thinking about the Pelican cases..just want to make sure I get one large enough to hold my knives as the collection grows..Fairly new to collecting Spydies & this forum. Thanks!! Oh yea, PICS if possible!!

I have three curio cabinets in which I display most of my users and many of my shelf queens. Their boxes are stored in one of those plastic under-bed storage containers. The rest of my knives are stored boxed in another under-bed container. Some photos of the cabinets are here. They were taken quite a while ago and the knives are arranged quite differently today but they'll give you the general idea.

Do you mean for long-term storage?
Not sure what is best, and my collection is very small. I just use Tupperware (air-tight) with a re-usuable silica-gel pack for adsorbing moisture (one with button that changes color if it adsorbs too much moisture; you can then bake it in an oven to renew it). I suppose one could also put in an anti-corrosion emitter.

I keep my beauties in an Evo tool box from Sears. Tons of storage space for most EDC items, pretty cheap too. I think it cost around $80 bucks, can't beat it.

A Pelican 1450 works well for folders on end, and is not too big an heavy to carry around. It will hold about 36.

I have the large Spyderpac for my Benchmades (7) and Spydercos (18). It hangs off a ceiling hook.

A Kershaw bag and a Boker Plus large bag for everything else.

Most of the individual knife boxes are stored in shoe boxes.

All of the larger fixed blades are stored loosely in a drawer (5).

hey lowz,
i store my average sized spyderco's and other knives in lockable aluminium pistol cases.
they're stackable and protect my treasures quite well.
my ladybugs and baby goddard live in a small padded case meant for flash drives and memory cards.

There's a small drawer at the top of my dresser, that I keep my knives in. Me and my dad are fixing my grandpas knife collection case, that I'm going to use once it's finished. I keep my EDC knife on my dresser that i get when I wake up

Definitely will do a curio cabinet style display in the future. Maybe when I finally get that Man Cave I've always NEEDED! I know the Tupperware option is a little more cost efficient, but after seeing BSBG's pictures of the Pelican case, in orange!? YEAAA. That's the way I'm going. Just wonder how many MORE the 1550 case will hold?? I believe it adds roughly 8 inches...Thanks everyone!

The ones I don't EDC are in the gun case. The EDC ones have their own drawer in the Craftsman locking tool box. Humidity isn't too big of a concern in Colorado.

I like this idea and it appears to work great. Will be looking to get myself one of these cases in the near future with the way my collection is rapidly growing.

I only have one spyderco knife at the moment but all my other knives and valuables go in a safe bolted to the floor.

I just stored all my gold bricks in the bottom of my safe so I didn't have to bolt it to the floor :D

such as guns, or whatever. They may be worth the money, but it is still quite a bit.

I have Boker storage vaults (essentially spyderpacks, with whatever that really soft lining stuff is). They're great, And offer a bit more protection than just the nylon of the spyderpacks. :eek:

I have used them during canoe trips for cell phones and cameras. They're outstanding. Pricey, but worth it if you have something that needs long lasting, reliable protection.
