Knives that you just can't keep your hands off
Still in the honeymoon stage. The Phoenix
Is my first choice and the Captain is the
second. Two great knives. I have been there
before with countless Spydercos. Same with
the Junior until I had to send it back
for re-edging.
What are your favorites at the moment?

Several versions of the Stretch The Lignum Vitae one STR customized for me over five years ago. I must have opened and closed it 10K times or more and still find rubbing my thumb along the wood relaxing. Not to mention that it's pleasing to my eyes as well and that I've probably done more cutting with it than with all my other knives combined. The CF/ZDP version. The peel-ply CF gives it a totally different tactile sensation, more like rubbing your finger on a file, but still pleasant to just sit there, opening and closing. The VG-10 FRN version. Yet another different tactile sensation. Not smooth, like wood, but not rough like the CF either, just sort of bumpy. The incredible bolstered version Sal sent me, out of the blue. Extremely beautiful to look at, very pleasant to touch, and, like the others, fluidly smooth to operate. All four of them share the same relationship between the handle, pivot, and Spyderhole that feels like it was engineered specifically for my left hand. It lets my thumb follow a super smooth and comfortable arc when opening.

I am a bigger blade knife fan and the Millie has been my favorite since I first got one.
It seems like the last one that you got is your favorite for a while, but you end up
going back to your old flame.
Right now I keep looking at my Gail Bradley and wonder why it took so long for
me to get it. (I always have a Yo2 or Massad Ayoob for SD though)

I really like to flip open my Gayle Bradley and my PM2. I also like my UKPK drop point a lot lately.

These I can't do without
I too just re-aquired a Captain and a Street Beat. I didn't realize how much I loved both of them until I did without them for a while. I also did a radical change in my EDC>> I moved up to a Spyderco C-60, G-10 handled Massad Ayoob and I couldn't be happier.fredswartz wrote:Still in the honeymoon stage. The Phoenix

I literally can't keep my hands off Spyderco's hawkbills>> I just recently lost or had stolen from me my G-10 Harpy which I've replaced with the yellow H-1 Spyderhawk SE.
Also I can't even hardly go a day without using one of my Catchermans. Mostly use the full Spyderedged one that I've had for years. But the Catcherman is about my favorite for culinary uses.
Long Live the SPYDEREDGE Spyderco Hawkbills RULE!!

Sage4 and Gayle Bradley. Sage4 is a little over a month old for me so the "brand new" has worn off and it is still a favorite. That's a good sign it will stay one of my favorites. Both are a treasure to just open/close as I'm doing something else (no, not driving :) ). GB is enbelieveable smooth and the Sage4 has the resistance that screams strength. The resistance is due to the strength of the lock bar spring. When I push the lock release the blade falls down.
I also enjoy using them to cut stuff. :)

My Persian and Calys still go strong. But lately I also play a lot with Temp2 and Orange Para. My Orange Dodo is out of town, I missed it that much, so yesterday pick another one.

My top choices Natives5, Calys, C83 Persian
