Any news on the Pygmy Warrior?

Mr Blonde posted pictures of the prototype of this blade and I really like the idea of it. Does anyone have any additional info on this knife? Steel, sheath etc.?

Judging by the crudeness of the protoype, I would guess that there's not much info on it. I assume that the steel is going to be H1, could be wrong though.

Yeah, I managed to dig up some info myself now, after searching on the maker:
http://www.snipercountry.com/InReviews/ ... arrior.asp

It seems the knife is partially based on the pattern of a folding version of the Hobbit Warrior knife:

I don't fancy the idea of a double edge folder very much, but the pattern seems great for a fixed, full tang, mini version of the Warrior. I like the pommel section and the absence of a guard for more comfortable carry. I know it's only on a prototype stage, but with some slight refinements, I think it could turn out into an excellent knife.

Hi Dr. Heelhook,

We're working on the piece now. We'll be building them in the Golden plant.

They'll be CTS-BD1. There will also be a black version.

Hi Gbelleh.

Actually we've been talking about a Spyderco version.

The current plan is for a Boltaron sheath.

See to you at Blade. Since I did sheaths for the REKAT Pygmy prototypes, can give you input if desired.

A folding Warrior as close to as functional as the fullsize FB as possible would be really incredible.

I've got a really good feeling about this one. Either G-10 handles, or FRN ones, like on the regular Spyderco Warrior would be cool.

By the way, have you decided if the final version will have the staggered saw teeth like the Al Mar Warrior, or a spyderedge like the Spyderco version? (I'd prefer spyderedge myself)

I wasn't particularly interested in this myself but if it's made in Golden with CTS-BD1, price point might be significantly lower than on the Warrior.

I like the saw teeth on the originals, it would be an interesting change from the Spyderedge.

I'm very curious, so I thought I'd bring this up again. Any new developments on the design? The sheath? Is it very far from release?

This sounds like this could be my first spyderco fixed blade.

The Pygmy is moving right along. The sheath has also been designed.
