ladies for Spyderco's?
ladies for Spyderco's?
So I've been slowly converting my wife to guns and knives. She's good with the guns and coming around on carrying and using a knife. Unfortunately she's a teacher and can't carry to school. But she puts a knife in her pocket when she gets home. I started her off on a Ladybug (purple) and added a lanyard with a couple of beads as decoration and she loves it. We went to Maine last year and she found she needed a knife to cut through the membrane on lobster tails; gave her my Finch PE but it was only marginally acceptable - hence she got an H1 Dragonfly SE for Xmas for this year's trip. I recently bought an older Native on Amazon (after watching the price go up and down for like 3 months) and let her try it out - she liked it. I asked if she'd like one in pink and she emphatically said, "Yes!". So now I have it inline for a future birthday present. My question (finally!) is what would be a good "ladies" knife for her next knife? There are all kinds of "gentleman's" folders out there - are there any "ladies" type folders (of the Spyderco persuasion)? Mike
My own preference is the Ladybug. Recently, i got a pink one off of ebay. Now if it were just H1!! Just recieved the new Jester Sprint Run and really like it. Feels good in my small hand unlike some of the bigger knives. A Jester pink would be really awesome!! (Sal, I hope you're listening) Obviously there isn't a huge market for "ladies" knives, so I guess it just comes down to personal preference and what feels good to hold. However, I do appreciate Spyderco coming out with colors that are favorable with women!

I don't know if there is a general characteristic that appeals to ALL ladies :) .
My daughters are 20 and 22 years old. Important to them was color, and after initially owning ladybug sized knives, they both wanted something bigger. One wanted a green delica, the other a pink native (she really wanted red but Spyderco only uses red handles for trainers). Last night I also gave the oldest a waved delica, she loved it even though it didn't come in different colors. Oh and she also loves the dragonfly, keeps it tucked in her bra :) . She is often opening boxes and stuff at work, so can get away with using the knives around coworkers.
