I have an employee of mine who is into knives and prides himself on all the china knives he picks up. Lots of Bee, Enlan, Navy stuff. He knows I'm into Spydies and he recently purchased these UKPK knives that were clearly fake. I have no idea where he got them, I'm assuming here -

I gave him an earful when he showed them to me, but I did take a real close look at it. Now I own a FRN UKPK and I've also handled alot of his Enlan, Bee, Navy knives.
This thing is a huge piece of crap compared to these other knives. I'll admit, that sometimes he shows up with something from Enlan and they aren't bad and the quality is pretty decent for the price. (I believe Sal has even discussed at one point that one of these companies does some work with Spyderco on the Ambitious/Value line)
However, this UKPK knockoff was really bad. The detent was worse than a real FRN version. The blade FFG grind was nasty and uneven, the clip was limp. There was no way it was even worth the trouble or even scant amount. Do not confuse something like this with one of these other China brands.
I don't want anyone to think this is a "review" by any means. But I see this guy at work and try to rationalize his purchase...and I know there are others out there like that. I just wanted to say, even if you take the morality factor out it...these knockoffs are really bad.
