If the scales are smooth(read-slippery)CF then that is not to like for me. I prefer the twill CF of the Sage1 & Gayle Bradley. If the only thing going for the new type of CF is gold lighting bolts, well, I'm a little disappointed. Someone please tell me this new fangled CF is somewhat grippy.

I believe reports from Amsterdam indicated a texture like twill CF.

My top plan for this year probably. TIP UP for me pls. I love the CF it has now. Only thing I do not understand is the absence of stop pin - to me it looks the tang stops against the liner that is the comp lock, not against the stop pin. Howz it really? Can someone explain?

I liked the older version better. It had black screws and normal CF, which I think it is better, since I have a funny feeling that if you drop this one and the CF gets damaged a little, then you will have brass spikes poking your hand, not so good for a self defense knife. I am also hoping that the scales will be 100% carbon fiber and not g10 with a CF layer. Also, I don't know why they want to make it a 4 way clip, 99% of the people I know carry tip up, the unnecessary holes damage the beauty of the knife. Anyways, can't wait to get my hands on one, or two :D

I agree, black or better yet gold/brass screws would take the look of this knife to the next level.

Black yes for sure...I think that gold would be flashy and a bit tacky.

One of the best knives that I have seen in a long time, totally SD BA with a touch of class.
I am sure that whatever the scales are, you won't have little brass wires poking out if you
drop it. If that's a fear, don't buy it.

Sometimes on knives like the Szabo, I don't like to see the extra holes for 4 way carry,
maybe it should only be made with tip down since it is a larger folder.

Black hardware & clip just like the GB. Twill CF tip down would make this a dream knife.

I was thinking the same about 4-way clip. But, I figured I may decide to carry it in my left pocket for various reasons. Most likely tip up in the left and deploy the blade with a flick of the wrist. Even though I'm right handed I use a southpaw stance for defense. I also swing a bat switch. So, it's nice to have options and why limit yourself to right hand tip up carry.

I guess that I had fallen asleep on the Szabo folder for some reason. I hadn't really looked at it
closely until recently. Now it's stuck in my mind. It's a beautiful piece of work and such a BA
design. I love the angles that move back from the tip for greater penetration. The lines of the
blade are sick and the handle matches those lines.

Now, just need to see when and how much. With ones like this the how much isn't quite as
important as the when. Unless of course it goes Lionspy.

The lock puzzles me too, Jano. May just be an optical illusion, but it appears the stop pin passes through the lockbar. Different, to say the least, strange even.
