Hi Kristi, thanks for the news. I'm looking forward to this one.

Thank you Kristi, I'm in for one.

I don't care about the model. It's a Spyderco, that's all I need to love a knife!

I'm mostly a lurker but I'd LOVE to get a forum Spyderco. Since my funds are pretty limited I'd just be in for one. I'm eagerly anticipating the announcement!

Oh great, here I am browsing the catalog bookmarking all the knives I want to throw money at in the near future, and I think 'Oh, lets check out the forums; it's been a while' and I find this thread.

I don't make enough money!

How do I make sure that I am on your list? Just reply in this thread? If so - count me in!

If their policy is not to ship locking folders to NY, I don't see them making an exception simply because this is a forum knife. If the forum knife turns out to be a UKPK, you might have better luck.

Oh great, I forgot about that too. There goes my hope as well. I also read in another thread that NYers can forget about their warranty too. I mean, we could send the knife in for repair, but if Spyderco doesnt ship locking folders to NY, it wont get shipped back? (off topic I know). Sorry

While I wouldn't rule out the UKPK as a potential Forum Knife, Spyderco's current policy regarding shipments to New York is, as you noted, just a company policy so they can modify or change it at will if they decide the Forum Knife will be one of their US made locking folders. Not to say that will happen, just that it can't be totally ruled out.

Unless and until Spyderco makes a formal announcement to that effect, I strongly suspect it is just unfounded speculation on someone's part.

A forum UKPK would be a great idea, it would let people in most places actually put it to use.

I feel for you guys. Do you know anyone who could buy the knife for you (you provide the $) and have it shipped to them? Then they could ship it to you. Or does NYC have it' own customs dept. like countries do? That's a joke but I bet your beloved DA would go for it.
